I became a fan of the Gran Turismo series of games over ten years ago on the original Sony Playstation. It was and is pretty much the gold standard of how a console video game should play. I became intrigued with one of the courses which is called Route 246 in the game and traverses a semi-rectangular course beginning close to Akasaka-Mitsuke crossing on Aoyama Dori where it loops around the eastern parts of Shinjuku-ku passing Jingu and the National Stadiums and wrapping around Moto-Akasaka 2-chome.
The original version was shot in 2004. Two years later in 2006 the last version was shot. Once Gran Turismo 5 is released, perhaps in late 2009, I will shoot another version of these frames and get them published. There is a guy called “interceptor” who took the trouble of screen capturing all of my 2006 shots. They are captured here.

I spent 6 months in Tokyo and rode a cruddy bike around the Route 246 for some fun….this course has a serious dips and hills not obvious playing the game. I’m quite sure the cars woul become airborne in some sections.
